Daydreams Come True (May 25, 2019)
The sun beats down on her face, reflecting from the off-white pages of her book. She has never read this one; she always wanted to, but never could find the time. The pressures of her office job became unbearable and time to sit and read became scarce. Long hours kept her glued to her desk, but her mind was always elsewhere; her mind was always here: a park bench in the middle of the day when the sun hangs just right in the sky. When the shadows on the trees provide shelter and a sense of cool air in the otherwise blistering day.
She never thought she could live this life; she never thought she could slow down, but she never tried either.
Until.
She.
Did.
Here, she is without a job, but happier than she has ever been before. She no longer lives to please a boss who was too busy to notice her effort. She no longer lives to prove herself to coworkers who sail through life because of their title. She now lives to be herself: the best, most genuine version of herself where she can be unapologetically real – unique. Where she can sit down to the novel she has been planning to read since last year and devour every page – nothing holding her back. Where she can watch the children play and plan on having her own; a plan that for once can come true.
